Internationally renowned artist and activist, Ai Weiwei, will open an exhibit beginning January 27 through August 20, 2017, his debut show in the upper Midwest and a first for the artist at a botanical garden. Known for combining old world traditional craftsmanship with modern conceptual approaches to themes of free speech and human rights, Weiwei is exhibiting more than 30 works in a collection that ranges from iconic pieces to new projects.
